MEET PETER HERNANDEZ
A first generation Mexican-American, Peter Hernandez was born and raised in San Benito County, California. Coming from a family of Mexican immigrants, who knew the value of manual labor, Peter was raised in the agricultural community of Hollister.
Today, Peter proudly owns and operates Ohana Shaved Ice in Hollister with his wife and kids, as a living example of the American Dream. Peter's love for his community inspired him to volunteer for the Probation Department, serve as a Hollister School District Trustee, and later run for the District 3 Supervisor, where he served from 2018-2022, and for Congress in 2022 to restore local control. Since his first term, Peter has continued to fight for the little guy, prioritizing small business growth, local control, economic development, and paving a way for others to experience the American Dream.
Peter enjoys hard work and asks for your vote if you value liberty, God-given freedoms, and want someone who knows what it means to put the interests of local voices first. Peter loves America and hopes to celebrate his passion through dedicated service to San Benito County.
PETER'S VISION FOR SAN BENITO
RESTORING LOCAL CONTROL
Government should work FOR, not against the people. That's why Peter advocates for putting local interests first. Whether it's decisions on housing, development, or affordability, San Benito County should be run by the people who live and work here, not special interests.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
As a lifetime resident, Peter knows what it means to support and serve his community. Being a small business owner makes him ready to balance budgets, invest in new businesses, and promote local organizations. Peter's goal is to develop our home without taking away the things that have always made San Benito great.
UPDATING PARKS AND INFRASTRUCTURE
As a father and small business owner, it is necessary for San Benito to have updated infrastructure and places for recreation. These elements are essential to attracting new families, jobs, and economic opportunities to keep San Benito a thriving county.
LEADERSHIP THROUGH EXPERIENCE
Since 2018, Peter has served San Benito as County Supervisor for District 3 and has dedicated his time to building his small business, volunteering in the local schools, and meeting folks where they are. His love for the American Dream and passion for good government makes him more than qualified to continue serving San Benito county.
A STORY OF SERVICE & SUCCESS

Investing in Riverview Regional Park
Peter successfully negotiated and obtained $6 million in funding for new updates to the park including baseball fields, pump track, frisbee golf, and landscaping upgrades.

Supporting Small Business
Peter was on the Roadmap to Recovery adhoc which fought to preserve economic vitality for the small business community during COVID, keeping businesses open and downtown functioning.

Fighting for Local Control
Peter agrees that the top-down pressures of state mandates makes things unaffordable. Peter has and will continue to fight to protect from additional county costs from the negative consequences of unfunded state mandates.

Promoting Economic Development
Peter obtained hundreds of thousands of dollars to revitalize downtown Hollister during the pandemic while also recommending outdoor dining to maintain local business growth.

"I am running to Preserve local authority, strengthen our economy, and save our rural hospital.
